Auckland Regional Paddling Facilities Study

The region’s paddling codes (rowing, waka ama and canoeing) recognised the need to work together for the development of regional facilities. Through ARPASS, Visitor Solutions was commissioned to partner with the codes to establish a strategy for Auckland’s future rowing and paddling facility needs. A key part of the project was a comprehensive inventory (stock take) of all school, club and regional rowing and paddling sites in greater Auckland. Additional data such as location, associated facilities, membership profiles and population growth areas were analysed for each site.

Following the adoption of the strategy, Visitor Solutions has worked with Auckland and Manukau City Councils on a detailed feasibility study for a new sub regional facility. And with North Shore City to develop a northern sub-regional facility.
